Mark, after serving his birth country of South Africa in it’s armed forces, came to England and began a career in industry before taking up a position at Regents Bible College in Oxford.
As part of his training he worked at Kings Sutton Baptist Church and then with The Peoples (Baptist) Church in Banbury.
It was here Mark got the calling to come to Oakridge in his first true Ministry as a pastor of his first church.
Mark completed his first 3 years at Oakridge where he eventually became a fully accredited Minister.

Philip Rackstraw

Philip has attended Oakridge all his life from Sunday School to Baptism and membership in 2009. He has been treasurer of the church since 2013. As well as his duties as treasurer, he is also involved with Worship, being part of the audio visual team and a singer in the church music group.

Sandra Rackstraw

Sandra started coming to church at the tender age of four, with her next-door neighbour. She has grown up in the church and was baptised in Easter 1997. She has taken on many roles within the church, such as junior church, and youth club leader. She has recently become church administrator and is involved in the worship group.

Sheila Dobson

Sheila has been a member of Oakridge Baptist Church for many years and is the longest serving member on the Diaconate Sheila’s main responsibility is for Pastoral Care. She regularly visits members who are in Care Homes, sick and anyone who cannot attend services at Oakridge. She asks for anyone who needs Pastoral Care within the Church to contact her.
 

Josie Coombs

Josie has been a member of Oakridge for over  50 years and a Deacon for the past 14 years. Her main roles include leading the worship group either playing the piano or singing at the Sunday  morning services. Her other main responsibility is pulpit supply. Other interests are corporate prayer, meet & greet and hospitality.
 

 

 

 

 

 

John Sinclair

On the 13th October 2000 John arrived in High Wycombe from South Africa and was invited to OBC on the 14th April 2001. He has been attending ever since.  He was baptised on the 14th December 2003. He has been on the diaconate for about 10 years.  John has been involved with the Boys Brigade and Girls Association at Oakridge since it began.  He is also involved in the running of the Wycombe Winter Night Shelter.  He also ran the OBC football teams for about 10 years until they disbanded.  He also organises a golf association linked to the church.  His outreach is to people through sports and social activities. His other rolls within the church are the Church Facilities (maintenance) and Health and Safety of the church and manse.
 

 

 

 

Angela Sinclair

Angela arrived in High Wycombe on the 13th October 2000 from South Africa and was invited to OBC on the 14th April 2001. She has been attending ever since.  She was baptised on the 14th December 2003. She has been on the diaconate for about 16 years.  Angela has been involved with the Boys Brigade and Girls Association at Oakridge since it began.  She is also involved in the running of the Wycombe Winter Night Shelter. Her rolls within the church are Prayer, Outreach, and all Young People activities.

Dilini Reynold

Dilini is passionate about prayer, worship, discipleship and bringing the word of the Lord to the masses, the key areas that she is responsible for at Oakridge.  Dilini believes that there is nothing that cannot be achieved through prayer.  She comes from a medical mission background having served disadvantaged communities as a prayerful doctor.   In her spare time, she plays the piano and engages in dabbing in floristry.

 

   

 

Karen Lucas

Karen has been attending Oakridge Baptist Church since 1995 and has recently been elected to the diaconate. She is a qualified teacher with skills and interests in children and young adults with additional needs. She has volunteered to assume the role of Safeguarding Trustee for our Church. Karen also loves to sing with the worship group and joins others in weekly Bible study.
