The Golf Society began in April 2013 and the first golf game started at Princes Risborough golf club with 12 members. We now have 22. We play golf one Saturday a month in the afternoon between March and October, usually the 2nd or the 3rd Saturday of each month. We play at a different 18‐hole golf course each month within the Chiltern area. The golf is open to anyone that would
like to play golf (male or female). You do not have to be a regular full time golfer to play in the society.
The society is for Christians and non‐ Christians to come together and enjoy the game of golf, get exercise and enjoy each other’s company, have a drink and a chat after a round of golf in the golf course club house and to show that Christians also have fun and can socialise together with non‐Christians.
After each game the player with the best score gets a small prize. The society has two floating trophies that are awarded at the last game of the year (in October) for the player with the highest average score during the year and the other is for the most attended and highest average score. We also give a prize on the day for nearest to pin for a selected par 3 holes. We also do a prize for the 4 ball with the highest points in the yellow ball snake game. After the presentation of the trophies, we then all enjoy a single course meal.
The cost for a golfer is a £10 signing on fee and then green fees. The average green fee each golf game would be anything between £18 and £28, but as we are a society the golf course will usually give up to £5 discount on their regular green fee.
The Society plays at these golf courses: Hedsor, Birds Hill, Maidenhead, Weston Turville Golf Club, Princes Risborough Golf Club and Chiltern Forest, Halton.
